WAZKA GROUP PROGRAMS
All Ability Focussed Capacity Building-Daily Living Skills
Our Wazka-developed program is designed to empower participants to live as independently as possible. This group simulates real-life scenarios, providing a supportive and empowering environment where participants can develop essential life skills. From cooking nutritious meals and budgeting to shopping locally, cleaning their homes, and managing other everyday tasks, our program equips participants with the tools they need for independent living.
Wake up & Walk Capacity Building
We offer a range of "healthy living" programs designed to encourage participants to make healthier food choices, save money, exercise regularly, and build a balanced lifestyle. These programs include activities like gardening, cooking, home skill-building, budgeting, and shopping, all aimed at promoting well-being and independence in everyday life
Job Ready Capacity building
Our job-ready program is designed to equip participants with the essential skills and confidence needed to secure employment or volunteer opportunities. We provide support in areas such as resume development, selecting the right interview attire, gaining proficiency in computer programs, and more, ensuring participants are fully prepared for success in the workforce.
All Ability focused Daily Living Skills, Cooking with Autistic people.
As a team, we work with participants at their own pace in cooking and baking sessions where they prepare treats to take home. We encourage the use of their personal communication devices whenever possible or help them develop devices that make them feel comfortable, ensuring they can understand and focus on tasks effectively. Additionally, we create social stories together at the center to guide discussions on the meals we cook, empowering participants to make decisions about their meals.
Through interactive activities and step-by-step instructions, we foster social skill development and support participants in enhancing their cooking abilities, all while promoting collaboration and engagement.

Social Engagement Capacity Building
Our social programs are developed in collaboration with participants and their care teams to encourage social skill development, consistent community engagement, and participation in skill-building activities such as budgeting and communication. We offer a variety of hobby-focused programs, grouping participants with similar interests to create the most supportive environment for them.

These programs are designed to foster connection, creativity, and personal growth, while promoting a sense of belonging and fun for all participants.
Wazka Choir Capacity building
Our Music and Movie Club offers a supportive environment for enthusiasts to come together, discuss, watch, listen to, and play instruments without any restrictions on noise levels. Every week, we explore a new genre of either movie or music, providing participants with the opportunity to develop skills they may not have had the chance to explore otherwise. This club encourages creativity, fosters community engagement, and allows participants to enjoy and express themselves through their shared interests.
Lifestyle Skill Building, Goal Setting and/or Employment Skills
This group is focused on developing advanced computer and technology skills, with an emphasis on computer safety and education. Together, we explore the internet to find worksheets and information tailored to each participant's level. Skills range from basic tasks like sending professional emails, creating Word documents, connecting devices to Wi-Fi, and downloading apps, to more complex activities such as applying for jobs or enrolling in courses. We also prioritize technology safety, discussing topics like internet security, screen time management, relaxation techniques, and safe online communication.
In addition, we introduce personal goal-setting, including resume building and job search strategies. For those considering further education, we offer guidance in navigating the process, organizing schedules, meeting assessment deadlines, and improving time management skills—all customized to each participant's needs. Zumba & Boxersise
We’re excited to introduce Zumba and Boxersise to Wazka Support Services! These fun, dynamic classes provide an engaging way to get your heart pumping. Our Zumba and Boxersise sessions are designed to accommodate each participant’s pace, ensuring everyone can enjoy the activities at a level that suits their fitness and comfort.
Arts and crafts, All Abilities 1:3 ratio
Our Arts and Crafts program is a creative and engaging initiative that encourages participants to explore and express their artistic talents. We provide a variety of projects, from designing clothing lines and producing movies from concept to completion, to creating murals at iconic locations like Elephant Rock. Each project completed by participants is showcased at our annual art show, celebrating their achievements.
In addition, we support participants in developing their personal brands and encourage them to promote these brands at local events, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment in their creative work.
Women's only Psychosocial ages 18 and up 1:3 ratio
Our women’s only group offers a nurturing and empowering space, bringing women together in a supportive environment. The Wazka program focuses on holistic self-care, addressing both inner and outer well-being. Participants take part in activities such as crafting homemade beauty products and attending self-esteem workshops, where they learn self-improvement techniques, mindfulness practices, and more to foster personal growth and confidence.
Men's Mental Health Respectful relationships
Wazka has developed a program that combines in-center learning, creative expression, and community-based outings. Our psychosocial group for men focuses on exploring authentic masculinity and challenging the societal gender norms that often dictate specific roles for men and women.
In this group, we encourage participants to reflect on their personal values and redefine masculinity, moving beyond traditional stereotypes of the "man box." The program promotes mental health, well-being, self-care, and self-awareness, while offering a supportive space for participants to form connections, build confidence, and develop relationships.
Additionally, we connect participants to external professional resources, ensuring they have ongoing support and tools to continue their growth beyond our sessions
Lifestyle Skill Building, All Abilities
Woman’s only 16years and above All Ages 1:3 ratio (Centre based)
Our women’s only program focuses on developing writing and math skills while also prioritizing life skills and community engagement. We cover a variety of topics, including first aid, personal hygiene, accessing libraries, mental health first aid, sexual education (for those aged 16 and older), and fostering healthy relationships. Participants enjoy learning together and exploring the community.
We encourage women in the program to prioritize self-care, offering techniques to enhance self-esteem, nurture healthy relationships, and cultivate self-love. Additionally, we teach participants how to create beauty products using everyday household items that are affordable and easy to access, promoting both creativity and well-being.
Outing group, all abilities
All age groups. 1:3 ratio (Community Based)
Our group outings are centered around community engagement, where we support participants in taking part in local activities. We encourage collaboration among participants to research and plan outings in advance, including tasks like booking tickets independently. Discussions cover important aspects such as budgeting, scheduling, and practicing safety, including preparing lunches for the outings.
Past outings have included day trips to destinations like Coal Creek, the Zoo, Nyora Speedway, the Chocolate Factory, and the Penguin Parade, to name a few. Currently, our group outings are available seven days a week, providing ample opportunities for participants to connect with the community and enjoy new experiences.
Yoga and mindfulness
Join our Yoga and Mindfulness group to relax, unwind, and discover inner peace. This group offers a variety of yoga routines and mindfulness activities designed to help you feel centered, calm, and grounded, promoting mental clarity and emotional well-being.
